Father Tommy Conway
Father Tommy Conway, born and raised in Galway, Ireland, serves as the founding pastor of St. Fabian Catholic Church in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. A proud seventh of 13 children, Father Tommy was ordained in 1986 after completing his studies at Carlow College.
Over nearly four decades of ministry in South Mississippi — he has built a reputation for compassion, humor, and community devotion.
Beyond the altar, Father Tommy carries a unique sideline legacy: for years he served as team chaplain for Southern Miss Golden Eagles football, where his infectious Irish humor, supportive presence, and “I Believe” walking stick became a beloved part of game-day tradition.
